Your action is needed NOW as Azure Standard Organic Farm is under threat!
For those who don’t know, Azure Farm is one of our largest organic bulk food suppliers, located in Moro, Sherman County, Oregon. They are one and the same with Azure Standard Organic Co-Op, which is one of the few trusted organic bulk food suppliers in many remote areas.
Azure is a 2000-acre farm that’s been certified organic for 18 years – but yesterday, they were delivered a letter explaining that Sherman County may be issuing a Court Order on May 22, 2017, to quarantine Azure Farms until the whole farm is sprayed with poisonous herbicides!
Sherman County has recently changed their statutory codes from “controlling” noxious weeds to “eradicating” noxious weeds.
This effectively means that ALL organic farming methods will be illegal in Sherman county from now on.
You see, noxious weeds can be controlled through organic farming but it’s not likely to completely eradicate them.
Some of these weeds, such as Morning Glory, Canada Thistle, and Whitetop, have been present in controlled amounts on Azure Farm for many years–but now the county code will force Azure to contaminate their entire property with poisons like Milestone, Escort, and Roundup herbicides.
This will destroy all the hard work Azure has done for almost two decades, to produce the most natural and healthiest food possible.
To add insult to injury, Sherman county will also put a lien on the farm to force Azure to PAY FOR the toxic chemicals used to destroy them!

Let your voice be heard!
Tell Sherman County authorities that their proposed action would actually destroy the natural environment instead of saving it.
Tell them that destroying an 18-year old organic farm in the name of weed eradication will just make matters worse.

This county should be ashamed of themselves! Those weeds are not taking over! We know it’s all about the money. Big payouts or bribes from Monsanto and probably other chemical companies!

It’s made from goat milk, but it knocked a major infestation of Bindweed and Canada Thistle in the dirt.
I don’t think it’s all about money, as stated in a previous response. I am an organic farmer with conventional farms all around. There is a legitimate concern about weeds and disease coming from my farm to theirs and vice versa.
